A global rush in AI investments yielded a record net bookings for the world’s most prominent chip equipment manufacturer in the third quarter of 2025, as the sprint towards AI superiority is well underway.

Albeit missing its Revenue target by €224m, the company marginally surpassed its Earnings per Share target by almost 1%. The chipmaker pointed net sales between €9.2–9.8 billion in its upcoming fourth quarter, translating to approximately 15% growth and a solid profit margin of around 52%. Company’s shares rose by 3.4% post the release.

ASML Holding is the world’s sole and leading supplier of semiconductor lithography equipment (essentially the creator of the machines that create chips), enabling top chipmakers to mass-produce increasingly smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient computer chips. More importantly so, the company, also provides software, metrology (measurement) and inspection systems, refurbishes older machines, and offers extensive customer support.

The Dutch powerhouse thus, acts as a crucial and prominent cog in the AI revolution machine and is critical to semiconductor innovation thanks to its advanced, extreme ultraviolet (UV) lithography machines.

Hence, as an essential part in the global technology supply chain, the maker is uniquely positioned to excel and possibly outright achieve its ambitious long-term revenue targets. Firm executives wave that should the current industry momentum remain intact; its global semiconductor revenue is expected to surpass the $1 trillion mark by 2030.

Nevertheless, the chip equipment manufacturer underscored upcoming headwinds in demand in 2026, particularly stemming from Chinese firms (its largest target market accounting for almost 45% of its revenue), which are seen scaling back purchases due to strict US export regulations. The company noted however, that should strong booking growth continue, and new players take part in the AI race, the negative effect from China may be offset.
