US equities <\/strong>tended to edge higher in today\u2019s premarket hours. On the one hand, the slower than expected US CPI rates<\/strong> for January, as they were released on Friday, tended\u00a0 to enhance market expectations for aa faster easing of the Fed\u2019s monetary policy<\/strong>, which tended to be a plus for US equity markets<\/a>, yet on the flip side, market worries<\/strong> for the oversized investments in AI, announced by various Tech companies, tend to intensify, weighing on US stock markets<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being more specific, we note reports highlighting that Warner Bros<\/strong> seems to be reconsidering the buy out bid of Paramount<\/strong>, which could provide some support for Paramount yet at the same time it could weigh on the losing part, that being Netflix<\/strong>. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We expect a correction higher for US stock markets<\/a>, yet market worries for AI investments<\/strong> may continue to weigh on US equities on a fundamental level<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oil prices stabilise<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Oil prices<\/strong> seem to have stabilised somewhat after Thursday\u2019s drop. Oil market<\/strong> focus, on a fundamental level,\u00a0 seems to be shifting towards the developments in the US-Iranian relationships<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Negotiations between the two, are to restart about Iran\u2019s nuclear program<\/strong>, and Iran is reported to be ready to offer mining, energy and aircraft deals to the US in order to reach some common ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xlence Research Team opinion<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In our opinion, should we see progress <\/strong>being achieved in the second round of US-Iran negotiations we may see oil prices retreating as market worries for the supply <\/strong>side of the international oil market<\/a> may ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

USD gains some ground in the FX market<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The USD <\/strong>edged higher against its counterparts in the FX market<\/a> in today\u2019s Asian session, despite the US CPI rates for January coming in slower than expected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

North of the US border we highlight the release of Canada\u2019s <\/strong>CPI rates for January, just before the American session begins, which in turn may shake the Loonie. In tomorrow\u2019s Asian session we highlight from Australia<\/strong>, the release of RBA\u2019s <\/strong>last meeting minutes<\/strong>, and given the hawkish predisposition of the market for RBA\u2019s intentions, a possibly hawkish tone<\/strong> in the document <\/strong>could provide fresh bullish tendencies for the Aussie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last but not least we note the weakening of the JPY, after a week in the greens for the Yen and the release of a substantially slower GDP rate<\/strong> for Q4 25 for Japan. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the week we highlight the release<\/a> from the US of the Fed\u2019s last meeting minutes on Wednesday, yet today should Canadian CPI rates<\/strong> accelerate we may see Loonie traders being caught by surprise and thus could provide some support for the CAD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bitcoin remains stable for now<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bitcoin\u2019s <\/strong>price remained below the threshold of $70k, despite some attempts to break above the level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The market sentiment seems to continue to be bearish <\/strong>and its characteristic that the crypto king\u2019s<\/strong> price action<\/strong> has failed to stage a rise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The risk-off sentiment<\/strong> in the market seems to be weighing on a fundamental level, on the cryptocurrency currently. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
